On 9th-10th November 2010, Complexity-NET held a workshop at the Manos Conference Centre in Brussels. The main aim of the workshop was to explore future funding possibilities for complexity research at the European level. Representatives of several European funding agencies and the European Commission introduced their programmes in complexity science and complex systems research, with the objective of identifying possible synergies and to exchange experiences.
More specifically, the possibility of launching a transnational funding activity in support of complexity research was discussed. This activity intended to build on the pilot call successfully implemented by Complexity-NET in 2009-2010.
A second aim of the workshop was to showcase complexity science research to a wide international audience. In particular, the broad range of transnational, interdisciplinary projects that Complexity-NET has funded this year through our pilot call, Interdisciplinary Challenges for Complexity Science, was presented. The slides of presentations of the projects funded can be found to the right of this text.
