Complexity-NET European Landscapes
The aim of the European Landscapes task was to identify and document the overall strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats characterising complexity research and research-training activities on the European level, providing ideas for potential future transnational research schemes.
European Landscaping Workshop in Budapest
Complexity-NET hosted a two day European Landscaping Workshop in Budapest on 1-2 November 2007 with 46 representatives from 16 countries and 5 European coordinated networks at the meeting.
Day one comprised of a series of presentations from leading complexity scientists from Europe and the US, who gave an overview of some of the areas where complexity science is making an impact, a panel discussion on the challenges relating to complexity science and three presentations on existing coordinated activities for complexity in Europe.
Day two comprised of presentations on the coordination actions of Complexity-NET ERA-NET and SEE-ERA-NET, followed by a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats analysis of Complexity Science in Europe, which was undertaken by the participants at the workshop.
